Enjoy

I posted this on my Beekeeper's Association's blog but I thought I would share it here as well because the hives in these pictures are my dream! The gorgeous shade of aqua is called  "eau de nil"  or "Water of the Nile". I absolutely love it. Now visiting Fortnum and Mason is on my bucket list.

I came across an article on the hives located on the roof of Fortnum and Mason, a famous grocery store in Picadilly. It wasn't so much the article that mesmerized me, but the beautiful pictures of the very unique hives. They are absolutely dreamy. ENJOY!

12 OF 12

Certainly has been quite awhile since i have been here. I have been doing Chad Darnell's 12 of 12 but I have become so busy that I have been neglecting sharing them. This month I decided I would jump back in and post. I think this is my third year of doing the 12 of 12 and I always look forward to it.

We just had a snowstorm, which left us with a good dumping of 8-10 inches. It was such a beautiful day we decided to take Ethan out to play in it.

Little Ethan footprints.

Hubbs was shoveling off the deck and I thought it would be cool to lay on the ground and get a picture of the snow flying through the air. Almost looks like a cloud.

Another action shot. Look how BLUE that sky is, so pretty!

This house is having some renovations done.

The birds love these berries.

LOOK! It's Marie Antoinette frog!

After we came in I baked some Tosca Reno "Clean Eating" oatmeal raisin cookies for a function this weekend.

It's always so fun to do 12 of 12. Thanks for stopping by and checking mine out.

12 of 12 August 2009

Another month has flown by! Can't believe the summer is almost over! We had so much rain, maybe we will get a Indian summer this year?

This month's 12 of 12 (created by Chad Darnell) is all about the Fair. We took Ethan to the Wayne County Fair to see all the animals. It was fun to see his reaction to everything.

All the food vendors, so much junk food, my stomach hurt thinking of it.

I love bumper cars

What's a fair without a Ferris Wheel?

Ethan loved all the animals
this young man was great, he told us all about goats and let Ethan get in the pen so he could pet one.

The 4H kids showing their sheep

Beautiful, gentle draft horse.
how cute is this chick?
This turkey was beautiful.
A "lose your lunch" ride

The counting pony, she got every math problem right!!

Thanks for stopping in for my 12's this month.

12 of 12 July 2009

Oh it was a glorious day for this month's 12's. Don't know what 12 of 12 is? Then visit Chad Darnell's blog and get the 411. While you're there check out some of the 12's from people all over the world.

To celebrate the fact that it was NOT raining today, I had to get Ethan outside for some vitamin D. I decided that we would talk a hike around Shuman's Point which is located on Lake Wallenpaupack.

First, Ethan asked for a bath. I had to oblige

All of Ethan's favorite bath toys

Hiking at Shuman's Point on Lake Wallenpaupack

Stone walls that go right into the lake, because Wallenpaupack is man made and there used to be a town down there.

Here's a view on the old wall and you can see, it goes right into the lake.

We took a break on one of the outlet beaches and ate some blueberries

Praise be to the good weather gods!

My date for lunch, he's so cute I guess I'll excuse the fact he eats with his hands.

After the hike I was invited to take a tour of one of the Arts Alliance member's garden. These pictures don't even do these gardens justice. They were breathtakingly beautiful.

Everything was terraced.

The coolest mailbox I've ever seen!

Thanks again for stopping by and checking out my 12's

Adventures in Vermont

I was finally able to get back to my home state of Vermont to visit family and friends this past week. My family has not seen the baby since this time last year, and some of my family had not even met him yet.

I had lots on my agenda, so many people I wanted to visit and places I wanted to go with only a week to do it in.

First stop was the Rutland County Farmer's Market to pick up some fresh food and fixin's for my stay. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this market has grown substantially since I lived there. There were so many wonderful vendors, it was hard to not spend all my cash. I discovered that you can use your credit or debit card to purchase $5 tokens that were good at any of the food vendors, brilliant idea!

My first purchase was some marinara sauce and sesame salad dressing from Bob and Irene Gordon and their Gordon's Pond Products. Irene makes these products from their home, the ingredient label even includes LOVE. Ethan especially loved the salad dressing and enjoyed dipping his veggies into it.

As I was walking around a sign caught my eye and I knew I had to stop at this booth! FILTHY FARM GIRL made me stop dead in my tracks! I had to stop in. A very warm young man named Richard was manning the booth and was very helpful in answering the questions I had about Filthy Farm Girl and how it came to be. The company is 100% Eco friendly, packaging is made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper by Greenline Paper. They even carry soap for your pooch: Filthy Farm Dog "Muddy Puppy".

If you are ever in Central Vermont on a Saturday make sure you check out the Rutland County Farmers Market, a gem in the heart of the city.
